Community invited to attend WPD Citizen’s Acadmey
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Community members interested in learning more about law enforcement are invited to attend Wilmington Police Department’s Citizens Academy.
The event will be held on April 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Haynes/Lacewell Training Facility.
Attendees will learn how the police department works from the inside.
There will be presentations from officers about different divisions within the PD, K9 Demonstrations, tactical equipment and safety demonstrations, tour of the WPD facilities, experience our new VR headsets, crime prevention and community programs, and a Q & A with Wilmington Police Officers.
Classes will also be held on April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 20, and May 21.
