CAROLINA SHORES, NC (WWAY) — A community meeting is scheduled to review the developer’s revised plan for rezoning the Carolina Shores Golf Course.

The meeting will be on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carolina Shores Town Hall Chambers.

A presentation will be given by the developer followed by a question and answer and comment period.

This is not an official meeting by a board, commission, or committee of the Town of Carolina Shores and affiliated with the Carolina Shores POA.

The Carolina Shores Golf and Country Club officially closed in November 2024. In May, several homeowners say they’ve noticed survey crews walking the course — raising concerns about future development.

According to the press release, residents have asked questions about stormwater and flooding impacts, traffic and evacuation capacity, compliance with the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance and CAMA Land Use Plan, tree removal, and long-term stormwater infrastructure/retention pond maintenance responsibilities.
