NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is planning on holding two community meetings in February regarding planned water main extensions in New Hanover County.

The first meeting will be on February 17 at 6 p.m. at Castle Hayne Elementary School located at 3925 Roger Haynes Drive.

This meeting will detail upcoming projects to extend CFPUA water service to Alandale, Arlington, Brentwood, Burton Newton Kerr, Garden Place, Hanover Gardens, Orange Street, Rockhill, and Wrightsboro Acres. All neighborhoods in the Castle Hayne and Wrightsboro areas.

The second meeting will focus on the planned Bayshore Water Extension Project at 6 p.m. on February 19 at Eaton Elementary School located at 6701 Gordon Road.

CFPUA says they received state and federal grants to support projects to extend public water service to neighborhoods currently served by private drinking water wells.

Both projects are expected to be complete by mid-2028.
