Community rallies at benefit concert

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — The city of Boiling Spring Lakes coming together tonight to forget about the destruction around them and just have fun.

Dozens came out to the community concert at Spring Lake Park. Parrot Party played the event and will donate 25% of merchandise sales to the city.

The Red Cross also came out to serve hot dinner and pass out supplies. Karlin West, the Parks and Recreation Supervisor, ays it means so much to see people having fun.

“I’m loving the hugs, the smiles out here. I think that’s what brings the community back together. As they’re already starting to dance, that’s what you love to see. They’re not sitting there, fixating on what they have going on,” said West.

West says the city holds Sunday night concerts throughout the summer. Tonight was the last concert and she says they wanted to go out with a bang.
