Community rides for fallen law enforcement
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More than 100 people biked for a good cause Saturday morning.
Wilmington’s Blue Knights Chapter held their annual motorcycle ride Saturday to support the New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick county law enforcement officers that have been injured or killed in the line of duty.
The law enforcement escorted ride started in Wilmington and ended in Shallotte.
Road Captain Jeff Tripp says this is the 6th annual and the event continues to grow each year.
“We are an organization of active and retired law enforcement so we are just trying to give back to those who are still working,” says Tripp.
Tripps says they hope to raise about $4,000 at Saturday’s event with all proceeds benefiting regular & reserve officers of New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender county who risk their lives to protect the community every day.
