Community tips lead to drug arrests
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Three men are behind bars and are facing various drug charges.
Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit have charged Zane Alan Williams, 27, and Michael Stanley, 27, have each been charged with trafficking heroin, conspiring to traffic heroin, and PWIMSD heroin. Eugene Anthwon Powell, 18, has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer.
The arrest comes after community tips and complaints led to a month long investigation. A search warrant executed at Williams’ residence at arrount 7 o’clock this morning yielded the seizure of 416 bindles of heroin, several weapons, and over $1500 in cash.
Williams, a validated gang member, is being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $130,000.00 bond. Stanley is being held under a $100,000.00 bond and Powell is being held under a $500.00 bond; both in the Brunswick County Detention Facility as well.
