Crews work to repair gas leak in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Crews worked Tuesday to repair a gas leak off Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington.

The call came in around 2:00 p.m. for a gas leak at South Carolina Avenue and Washington Street behind the Sturdy Controls Division building.

The Wilmington Fire Department and Peidmont Natural Gas both responded..

A spokesperson for the fire department says Kentucky Avenue, South Carolina Avenue, and Washington Street were all closed to traffic while crews worked.
