CUE Center hosting pig pickin’ for community, families of missing people
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The CUE Center for Missing Persons is hosting its annual Pig Pickin’ & Grilled Chicken event this weekend.
The Cue Center is a resource to help families try and locate their missing loved ones. The founder of the CUE Center, Monica Caison hopes the event can raise public awareness to help these families get some answers. Caison came into the WWAY studio for a live interview to explain more about what the center does and what you can expect at this year’s pig pickin’ event.
This weekend, the CUE Center is giving those same families a weekend to take a break from the search and enjoy time with others in similar situations. Every year, the CUE Center puts on its Pig Pickin’ campaign in Wilmington to try and bring awareness to those who are missing or have unsolved homicide cases. This Saturday is also National Missing Children’s Day.
Caison said they will have 400 pounds of barbecue, chicken, hot dogs, games, music, bouncing houses, awareness displays & booths and much more.
This year’s event will be Saturday, May 25, from 11:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. at 6769 Market Street in Wilmington. Plates include a meat, two sides, a roll, and a drink. The CUE Center can also deliver four plates or more.
The event also offers families who have gone through so much an opportunity to be around people who have been or are currently in a similar situation to them.
