Deputies fatally shot man who pointed gun at officers, personnel inside hospital

PASQUOTANK COUNTY, NC (WVEC) — A man was shot by deputies inside an Elizabeth City hospital early Tuesday morning, the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office said.

Elizabeth City police and Pasquotank County deputies responded to a call reporting a man with a gun at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center around 1:13 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found a man in the ER triage room as a nurse was trying to de-escalate the situation, officials said.
