Deputies: Man charged after $40K in weed found in hotel room

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said a man is facing charges after thousands of dollars worth of marijuana was found in a hotel.

Deputies said Scott Lee Tillman, 25, was arrested late last month after 17 pounds of high-grade marijuana and $1,200 cash were found in a hotel room on Market Street. They said the weed was valued at more than $40,000.

Tillman is facing charges including possession and trafficking marijuana. He was booked under a $50,000 bond.
