Diddy released in arrest at UCLA, where son plays football

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hip-hop music mogul Diddy has been released on bail from a Los Angeles County jail after an alleged assault at UCLA, where his son plays football.

Jail records show Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, was released after posting bail late Monday night, several hours after his afternoon arrest.

The jail records show that Combs’ bail was $160,000, but sheriff’s officials reached by phone said he posted $50,000. The reason for the discrepancy wasn’t clear.

UCLA police say Combs was arrested after an assault at the athletic facilities with a weight-room kettlebell. They did not identify a victim or say any more about the circumstances.

Combs son Justin Combs is a defensive back on the Bruin football team, which was conducting workouts on campus.
