Downtown power outage caused by CFPUA crew

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokesman from the Cape Fear Public Utility says one of their crews downtown caused the afternoon outage that affected more than 1,000 customers.

Mike McGill said the mishap happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Power was restored before 5 p.m.

More than 1,100 Duke Energy Progress customers were affected by the outage.
