WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — BMW Motorcycles of the Cape Fear has partnered with local nonprofit Good Shepherd Center to collect new and gently used bicycles for community members experiencing homelessness.

New bicycles for children of all ages, as well as new or gently used bicycles for adults, can be dropped off through December 15th at BMW Motorcycles of the Cape Fear at 5 Garris Road any day of the week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.

“We thought this was the perfect opportunity to marry our team’s love for bikes of all kinds with our desire to help those in need in our community,” says Shane Heffernan, General Manager of BMW Motorcycles. “We have the dual goal of not just providing new bicycles for kids in need this Christmas, but also providing bicycles for the homeless men and women in our community who don’t have reliable transportation. Riding motorcycles is all about community and camaraderie, and we want to extend that feeling to our neighbors who need support.”
