Drug bust finds 24 pot plants, guns

On July 7, 2010 Agents from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit investigated community complaints from the Riverview Estates Subdivision in the Shell Point area resulting in the arrest of Marcus Charles Carlson.

Agents discovered Carlson was operating an indoor marijuana grow operation from his residence. Items seized from the residence pursuant to the arrest included 24 marijuana plants (valued at $72,000), an indoor grow tent, ballast and other growing paraphernalia (valued at $3,000). Also seized were three rifles, a shotgun and a semiautomatic pistol.

Carlson was incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Facility with a $25,000 secured bond.
