Duke Energy reports 11,000 customers without electricity
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Thousands of North Carolinians still have no electricity after the big snowstorm that swept through the East Coast over the weekend.
Duke Energy reported more than 11,000 customers were without service early Monday.
The biggest problems were in Wake County with more than 4,000 customers without service in and neighboring Johnston County, with more than 3,000 outages.
Schools in the area were either closed or planned to start classes later than usual.
At least six people have died in North Carolina during the storm. All six victims died in traffic accidents.
