WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Dylan Dimock has announced his resignation as the head coach of the New Hanover High School football team.

“This decision was not easy, as my time with the Wildcats has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career,” wrote coach Dimock to WWAY.

The following is a letter from Coach Dimock:

“It is with mixed emotions that I formally announce my resignation as Head Football Coach of New Hanover High School. Serving as the head coach for the past six years has been one of the greatest privileges of my career, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible program.

Reflecting on our accomplishments, I am filled with pride in what we have achieved together. Winning two conference championships and seeing 19 of our players continue their football journeys at the collegiate level are milestones that highlight the dedication and talent of our athletes and staff. These successes are a testament to the unwavering support of the administration, the relentless hard work and commitment of our outstanding coaching staff, and, most importantly, the grit and determination of our players.

I have been inspired daily by the perseverance, growth, and camaraderie of our team. It has been a joy to witness the character and leadership our players have developed on and off the field. These young men are the heart of our program, and I have no doubt they will continue to achieve great things in the years ahead.

Thank you for your steadfast support of the football program and for entrusting me with this role. I will always cherish the relationships I have built here and the memories we have created as a team. While I look forward to this next chapter of my life, I will remain a proud supporter of New Hanover football and am eager to see the continued success of this program.”
