Earthquake reported near North Carolina/South Carolina border

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WSOC) — A small earthquake, 2.0 magnitude, was recorded early Friday morning near Pageland, S.C., according to the United States Geological Survey.

The USGS says the quake was recorded on a seismograph at 2:52 a.m. about eight miles east of Pageland.

The earthquake was originally deemed a 2.2 magnitude but was reclassified to a 2.0 magnitude.

Some people in the community reported feeling tremors in their homes.
