Fayetteville police officer treated with Narcan after fentanyl exposure
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Fayetteville police officer is in the hospital Thursday after he was exposed to fentanyl while executing a search warrant, police said.
The exposure happened around 9:30 a.m. when the officer was serving a warrant at a home located at 1149 Bernadine St., according to police. While searching the home, the officer became exposed to fentanyl.
Once the officer began showing signs of fentanyl exposure, his fellow officers administered two doses of Narcan, police said.
The officer was stabilized and transported to a local hospital. He was later released.
Two people have been charged in connection with the case.
