FEMA advises residents to call insurers now
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Federal Emergency Management Agency is in the state already working hard to help.
FEMA Representative John Mills says FEMA has now switched from recovery to response mode.
He says this is the time to speak with your insurers and to get in touch with FEMA. He also says the organization is part of bigger effort across the state.
“FEMA is here at the request of the state of North Carolina and we’re actively working closely with the governor and state emergency management and listening to the requests that are coming in from Wilmington and New Hanover County and all the other communities impacted by Hurricane Florence,” Mills said.
Mills also says their effort will take a while.
