Fill the Boot campaign ‘raises more money than ever before’

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) Fire Captain Bejamin Bobzien says New Hanover County firefighters ended their Fill the Boot campaign this evening and says they are right at their goal of $75,000.

Bobzien says they won’t know their exact amount until they go to the bank later this week, but regardless he says the department has raised more money than ever before.

He said they know they will be donating at least $74,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters were able to raise $55,000 earlier this month during the first half of the drive.
