Fireworks still on, for now, in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach said they are hoping the weather does not force them to make changes to their Independence Day plans, but the folks at the Chamber of Commerce said there are back up plans.

Pleasure Island’s main events are on Sunday, there is a movie screening and a big fireworks show. Executive director Greg Reynolds said those shows will happen rain or shine, unless there is lightening.

“If we don’t do them on July 4th spread them out for the rest of the summer and basically have double shows for probably the next five shows,” said Reynolds.

He adds they are expecting some pretty big crowds this weekend.
