UPDATE: Freeman Park closed, bridge expected to remain open

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – Freeman Park is now closed. The Town of Carolina Beach says it will reopen Saturday, once conditions improve and the threat of the storm passes.

Canal Drive from Pelican Lane to Saltmarsh Lane is closed to traffic due to flooding. We anticipate closures on Lake Park Boulevard in the area of the Carolina Beach Lake. Take alternate routes to avoid flooded streets.

Barricades and signs will be used to direct traffic away from high standing waters on streets.

The town expects the Snow’s Cut Bridge will remain open for the duration of this storm.
