Former Wilmington Shark makes MLB debut with Oakland A’s

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A former Wilmington Sharks pitcher is officially a major leaguer.
Mitch Spence made his MLB debut Friday night with the Oakland A’s, pitching three innings and giving up one run while striking out three.
Spence played with the Wilmington Sharks in 2017, appearing in 20 games with the team.
The A’s acquired him from the Yankees this past offseason.
