Gov. McCrory signs Azalea Festival proclamation

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Gov. Pat McCrory signed the official proclamation for the 2016 North Carolina Azalea Festival at the governor’s press conference this afternoon.

He was surrounded by some of this year’s Azalea Belles.

The document states the 68th Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival will be held from April 6-10, 2016.

The proclamation adds that, “the North Carolina Azalea Festival promotes North Carolina’s tourism industry by engaging visitors to explore what makes our state a wonderful place to live from the mountains to the coast.”
