Great weather, Santa & WWAY’s John Rendleman highlight Bladenboro Christmas Parade

BLADENBORO,  NC (WWAY) –WWAY’s John Rendleman was honored to be the grand marshal of the 42nd Annual Bladenboro Christmas Parade on Saturday.

The parade started in the parking lot of Bo’s Food Store. It weaved through downtown Bladenboro finishing up at the Bladenboro Middle School.

There were several floats, pageant queens and clowns.  Youngsters were urged to bring their paper and plastic bags to collect all of the candy that was graciously tossed along the parade route. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus highlighted the parade as well. The parade began 42 years ago as a community parade for a Brownie Scout Troop. Jane Walters and Sue Thompson Galloway both organized the first parade in Bladenboro.
