Heisman Trophy displayed in Wilmington for football fans

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — College football’s most coveted prize visited the Port City this weekend.

Football fans alike had an opportunity to see the Heisman Trophy on display at Capital Nissan in Wilmington Saturday.

From kids to adults, all lined up to get their photo taken with the honorable award.

General Manger Noah Woods says he is a huge football fan and was very excited to see the trophy in person.

“It’s the Heisman Trophy right?” Woods said. “I mean one of the best college athletes who gets voted by sport writers in college gets this and some of the best premier athletes out there have won this prize over the years so it is a pretty big deal if you are into sports.”

The Heisman Trophy is awarded each year to the best player in college football.
