Hoggard and Topsail clash in Game of the Week

HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — Two undefeated teams square off in our 5th Quarter Game of the Week. One team, always near or at the top. The other, a surprise 4-0 team.

It’s the Hoggard Vikings looking to storm the ship at Topsail against the Pirates.

Some uncharted seas for the team in yellow and black as this is their first ever 4-0 start in school history. Led by sophomore sensation Noah Lavalle, the upstart Pirates are looking to make a statement.

On the other side of the ball, the perenial powerhouse in the Mideastern Conference comes into this game flying high behind their strong offense lead by senior Josh Jones.

Each team knows the task at hand and the challenge they face.

“We’re just tickled to death to be in this situation,” Topsail Head Coach Wayne Inman said. “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve worked extremely hard to get our program to this point where a game like this matters. So that’s big for us.”

“Tough team,” Hoggard Head Coach Craig Underwood said. “It will be a great atmosphere to open up the conference, we’re excited about the challenge. They’re undefeated, we’re undefeated and both teams have put up good numbers on both sides of the ball. So I think it will be an exciting game.”

Pirates vs. Vikings. All coming at you tomorrow night at 7 in Topsail. The Mideastern Conference play opens and you don’t want to miss this game.
