Inaugural Taste of Truckz food festival coming to Wilmington Saturday

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — The Genesis Block Foundation will host the inaugural Taste of Truckz food festival on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cape Fear Community College Schwartz Center parking lot.
The event will highlight Wilmington’s growing food truck scene, featuring a variety of vendors serving signature dishes. Guests can also enjoy beer, wine and spirits, live music, giveaways, and a “Best Dish” competition decided by a People’s Choice vote. A kids’ section with activities will also be available.
“We are thrilled to host the inaugural Taste of Truckz and showcase the incredible talent of Wilmington’s food truck community,” said Lisa Weeks, Board Fundraising Chair at Genesis Block Foundation. “This event is not only a chance to savor delicious food and drinks but also an opportunity to support a worthy cause.”
Proceeds from the festival will support the foundation’s Block Eatz initiative, which aims to expand into a Food Innovation Campus. The campus will provide culinary entrepreneurs with access to training programs, resources, and state-of-the-art facilities designed to strengthen the local food scene.
