Raise a glass, it’s International Beer Day!

(CNN/WWAY) — Thank goodness its Friday, but not just any Friday. It’s also August 3 and  that makes it International Beer Day!

Happy hour will be even happier as ale-enthusiasts tie one on at Miller time.

According to the International Beer Day website, this day was first celebrated back in August 2008.

The month of August was chosen to honor the beverage because of its summer weather and distance from other beer celebrations.

Beer has been around for thousands of years, dating back to 3400 BC.
