Jacksonville Chick-fil-A worker gets $25,000 surprise scholarship
ATLANTA, Ga. (WCTI) — Corryn Barnes certainly didn’t see this coming.
To kick off Chick-fil-A’s 2019 scholarship announcement, Corryn Barnes, a restaurant team member at the Chick-fil-A Jacksonville Mall, was surprised by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy with a $25,000 scholarship for her college education.
She was one of 12 recipients of the money earlier this week.
Corryn has worked at Chick-fil-A since she was 15 and is currently a team lead.
She’s pursuing her degree in Political Science from N.C. State, and plans to use this scholarship to finish her degree and then get her masters. Her dream job is to be a U.S. Ambassador.
