Junior League of Wilmington to host 71st annual Bargain Sale

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Junior League of Wilmington (JLW) will host its 71st Annual Bargain Sale on February 28 and March 1 at the Elks Lodge, located at 5102 Oleander Drive. The two-day event, which is JLW’s largest fundraiser of the year, offers shoppers the chance to find deals on new and pre-owned items, all while supporting a charitable cause.

Sip & Shop will kick off the event on Friday, February 28, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This exclusive pre-sale event allows attendees to shop early and enjoy offerings from local vendors. Tickets are $20 per person and include admission to Saturday’s sale. Light hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer will be available for guests.

Lysa Clifton, a member of the Junior League, described the Sip & Shop event as “the ultimate thrift experience” with a wide range of donated goods, including women’s and children’s clothing, furniture, home decor, and sporting equipment. New items from local boutiques, including Target, and ten vendor tables will also be featured. Clifton added, “One of our vendors this year is offering permanent jewelry, which is trending right now. We even have a Girl Scout selling cookies!”

In addition to shopping, attendees can participate in a raffle for a $1,000 JetBlue gift card, including two round-trip tickets.

On Saturday, March 1, the sale will continue from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with all remaining items available at a 50% discount. While no food or drinks will be served on Saturday, ticket holders from Friday’s event can return to shop. General admission tickets for Saturday are $5 each.

Proceeds from the event support the Junior League’s mission of advancing women’s leadership through volunteerism, training, and community impact. The organization has been dedicated to improving the Wilmington area for over 70 years, contributing more than $1 million in charitable donations and thousands of volunteer hours.
