Lacey Suggs heading to UNCW; Trae Bryant transferring to CFCC

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — East Bladen High senior Lacey Suggs will continue her basketball career at UNCW as a preferred walk-on. Essentially she will not be on an athletic scholarship, but she’ll be given a chance to compete for playing time at UNCW. Lacey Suggs was named first-team all-state by the Associated Press. She’s accustomed to winning and scoring. She averaged 22 points a game her senior season. During her four-year high school stretch Lacey Suggs scored more than 2,100 points and she only lost 11 games.


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Former Hoggard guard Trae Bryant has decided to leave the UNC Asheville basketball team after one season. Turns out he’s coming home. Bryant has decided to transfer to Cape Fear Community College. He’ll play college hoops for head coach Ryan Mantlo at CFCC.
