Lane closures planned on Hoover Road in Pender County
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — Drivers in Pender County should prepare for lane closures on Hoover Road near Hampstead beginning Monday as the North Carolina Department of Transportation starts a road improvement project.
According to NCDOT, alternating lanes on Hoover Road between U.S. 17 and Misty Lakes Drive will be closed for about two months while crews complete drainage and roadway upgrades.
The project includes widening the road, resurfacing pavement, installing new pavement markings, and adding drainage pipes along the corridor.
Officials say one lane will remain open at all times to allow through traffic during construction.
The work is expected to be completed and the road fully reopened by mid-May.
