Laney advances, New Hanover falls in NCHSAA Round 4

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover guys and Laney girls were the only two teams from our area still standing in the NCHSAA Basketball playoffs entering tonight and now, it’s just Laney who advances.

New Hanover lost a close battle to #1 Northside-Jacksonville 57-55 after they couldn’t score with time ticking down in the game.

Laney defeated the #2 seeded Heritage girls 52-45 to move on to the East Finals against #1 Southeast Raleigh on Saturday.
