Local youth flag football team wins ‘Under the Lights’ National Championship

4th grade Wilmington Charges went a perfect 18-0 this season

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – As the sport of flag football continues to grow, Wilmington’s youth keep making their mark.

In the sunshine state, the 4th grade Wilmington Chargers completed their undefeated season, winning the Under the Lights national championship in Tampa.

The team won 18 games, training since this summer and capping it off the last week of December.
