Longtime touring artist performs free show at Cape Fear Rescue Mission
WILMINGTON, NC — A touring musician with more than four decades of experience across the East Coast is bringing his music to Wilmington on Thursday evening during a performance at the Cape Fear Rescue Mission.
Dave Treen, a Cherry Hill, New Jersey native who performs original Christian classic rock, blues, fusion, and reggae, is in town as part of his ongoing tour. Treen writes and performs all of his music and says he enjoys bringing a full concert experience to every venue he visits.
Treen regularly performs in a wide range of settings, including shelters, rehab centers, and prisons. He said he aims to give audiences in those environments the same type of show they would experience at a traditional venue, complete with lighting, sound equipment, and his signature tie-dye backdrop.
The musician has visited the Cape Fear Rescue Mission before and said the concert is open to the public. The mission, located at 502 Castle Street, assists people experiencing homelessness and helps them transition to self-sufficiency.
Treen encourages anyone attending the show to consider donating clothing, food, or monetary support to the mission during the holiday season.
The performance begins at 4:30 p.m. More information is available on the Cape Fear Rescue Mission’s website and Treen’s website.
