BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A lost dog is back home tonight thanks to the help of a Bladen County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Deputy K. Lemaster was working patrol Tuesday night when he saw a dog running in the road.

He stopped to help and check for a collar. When he opened the patrol car door the dog jumped in his lap.

“You know I’m a softy for animals,” Lemaster said.

The dog’s owner was identified and returned safely.
