Man charged with murder extradited to Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An Ocean Isle Beach man who was charged with murder is being held with no bond after being transferred to Brunswick County.

Charles Edward Antwine Jr., 56, was charged with Murder and Destruction of Body/Removal of Contents of an Unattended Death in connection with the death of Christie Thomas Ward on June 7th.

Antwine was initially detained at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in South Carolina. He was transferred to Brunswick County, where he was formally charged and booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center on Tuesday.

This remains an active investigation.
