McCullough earns conference Defensive Player of the Week for Volleyhawks

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–It was quite the week for UNCW senior volleyball player Katie McCullough , as she became the 13th Seahawk in program history to record 1,000 digs.

That wasn’t her only accolade, on Monday she named as the Colonial Athletic Association defensive player of the week. UNCW went 2-0 over the weekend picking up huge conference wins over Delaware and James Madison. McCullough average 6.1 digs over those two wins for head coach Amy Bambenek.

The Seahawks will hit the road this weekend as they take on Hofstra in Hempstead, New York on Saturday, followed up by Northeastern on Monday night.
