Men wanted after woman, dog shot during birthday party
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach police are looking for two men who invaded a home on Sunday and shot a 61-year-old woman and her dog while the family was celebrating a birthday, according to a police report.
The woman told police that the men entered through an open garage that leads into the kitchen around 8 p.m.
The 61-year-old woman told police that she started to walk toward the kitchen area and that’s when she saw one of the suspects shoot toward her dog, hitting him in the chest. The man fired again and hit her in the right forearm, according to the report.
She said the man then grabbed her purse and saw both of the suspects run out the door.
The 27-year-old said she and her family had just finished eating cake for her birthday when she heard the door to the garage open.
She told police that she saw the gun one of the men was holding and screamed. She immediately went into the dining area where the two other victims were sitting and heard two shots, according to the report.
The 61-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for the gunshot to her arm.
The police report describes one of the men as thin and about 5-feet, 9-inches tall. The other person was not described in the report, but the victims also thought he was a man.
The family said that the dog is okay.
