Mick Jagger ‘out and about’ at iconic Charlotte bar ahead of Rolling Stones concert
CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) — Mick Jagger was “out and about last night in Charlotte” at the one and only Thirsty Beaver Saloon in Plaza Midwood.
The Rolling Stones frontman posted a photo of himself Thursday morning, stating on social media channels simply that he went out on the town. The photo shows him standing outside the neighborhood hangout, sipping a beer — while patrons of the bar look in the other direction.
The Rolling Stones concert was scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Bank of America Stadium.
“It’s pretty damn cool to have one of the biggest stars in the world stop in at your place,” said Mark Wilson. “It’s just crazy.”
Wilson and his brother Brian have owned the dive bar on Central Avenue since 2008. The brothers have tickets to the concert, but missed Jagger’s visit.
“We’re still looking for the backstage passes he left,” Mark joked.
The posts had garnered thousands of likes and comments within hours of going up. Fans of the bar weighed in about the fact Jagger went seemingly unnoticed.
