Funeral plans announced for Billy Graham

CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — He brought the gospel to millions of Americans and people across the world.

He was North Carolina’s son, and a son of God.

The Rev. Billy Graham died peacefully Wednesday morning and all day WWAY’s Andrew James heard from those whose lives he impacted.

“My grandmother was saved from watching him on TV,” said Mary Wallace, who was visiting the library with her grandson.

“At five years old we started watching him and Billy Graham more or less instilled fear of God and Love of God,” said Sandra Clorie, who was a choir member during Graham’s 1978 crusades.

Those who came to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte simply left flowers, or prayers to pay respect.

“Other than my father, he is the only man that literally helped lead my spiritual on Earth as it is today,” Clorie said.

It’s now after Graham has left us, people like Mary Wallace think his message of fear and faith will carry even further.

Graham more than anyone knew what is seen is temporary, and what is unseen, is eternal.

Graham’s funeral will happen March 2 and will be held under a revival tent in front of the library in Charlotte.

There will be a series of public and private events beginning Saturday for the late minister.

The funeral is by invitation only and more information on who will be attending will be announced Thursday afternoon.
