PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A number of first responder agencies rescued a hunter Thursday afternoon in the Holly Shelter Game Lands.

The hunter had been in the woods for close to 20 hours in cold and rainy conditions. He was found about a thousand yards away from the closest roadway in a bay.

Drone teams were able to locate the hunter and provide direction to the K-9 scout and ground team, who waded through waist-deep water to assist the lost person.

There were no injuries reported.
