OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Family Day, a carnival-style event and one of the Museum of Coastal Carolina’s most popular days, will be held on April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will feature live snakes, an opportunity to meet a mermaid and more.

The museum invites visitors and locals to purchase tickets to participate in activities staged in the museum’s parking lot, such as the fish fling, jellyfish race, or making shark tooth necklaces and stomp rockets. Guests can purchase museum tickets, have their photo taken with a mermaid, learn about snakes, or purchase additional tickets for activities designed to reflect the coastal environment.
Sunset Slush and Hot Diggity Dogs and Hogs will be onsite with tasty treats available for purchase. Vicki Paints will offer facepainting for an additional fee.
Museum admission is $8 for everyone on Family Day and children 12 and under receive six free activity tickets with admission. Additional activity tickets are also available for purchase.
