NCDMV to offer new license you can renew online

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — A test phase is underway for an online driver license renewal system in North Carolina.

Governor Pat McCrory says it will allow you to save time and complete your renewal at your convenience.

As part of this change, the DMV will issue a new, more secure and durable type of license through online renewal and duplicate request.

The new design helps prevent counterfeiting and reduce identity theft.

You’ll be able to renew your license online, every other time you have to.

The new license is expected to be available in NCDMV offices beginning this summer.
