WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –In anticipation of the 2024 election, the New Hanover County Board of Elections is teaming up with the North Carolina State Board of Elections to host a seminar on photo ID requirements for voters.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Northeast Public Library, located at 1214 Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington.

“We are very excited to have an event in conjunction with the State Board of Elections that can help provide guidance and information on the photo ID requirements for individuals who want to cast their ballot this fall,” said Rae Hunter-Havens, director of the New Hanover County Board of Elections. “This will be a great opportunity to learn more and get information directly from our state officials on what is needed to take part in the democratic process.”

During the seminar, county Board of Elections staff will also be available to assist eligible residents in obtaining an NC voter photo ID. To qualify, individuals must be registered voters and residents of New Hanover County. Many attendees will have the opportunity to receive their photo ID the same day, provided they complete the necessary paperwork.
