New Hanover Community Endowment announces new department

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The endowment is announcing that Emily Page will lead the department of research and impact as vice president. The department will be dedicated to researching the impact of grants given to community causes. Endowment president and CEO Dan Winslow says the department will give the endowment insight on how to disburse their funding more effectively.

“Up until now, our focus has been on the grant awards, that is money going out.” said Winslow. “It’s, I think, critically important that we focus on the impacts coming back. We don’t measure success by how much money goes out the door. We measure success by how much impact we have in changing people’s lives.”

Winslow says Page brings a wealth of experience to the new department with an extensive background in nonprofit leadership and an MBA from Duke.
