New Hanover promotes Fuller to head coach
App state alum has been with Wildcat program for nearly two decades
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The New Hanover Wildcats have a new head coach, and it’s a familiar face.
John Fuller has been promoted to the position of head coach. He has been on the coaching staff for 17 years at New Hanover but has spent the previous seven as the defensive coordinator, leading the unit to a lot of success. In 2017, the team won a state championship.
“I am honored to take on this new role and continue serving the New Hanover football community,” said Fuller. “This program means so much to me, and I’m excited to lead these young men as we strive for success both on and off the field.
