New ‘lifestyle’ convention combines tattoos and firearms

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Downtown Wilmington is home to a unique convention this weekend. Ink and Arms is the first of its kind and showcases both tattoos and guns.

Organizers call the convention a lifestyle show, which does feature ink and firearms but also includes artwork, photography, and even burlesque. Folks in charge said that the culture on display at the convention is becoming more and more prevalent and this is a great way to showcase that.

“We were kinda looking for the next thing you know we’ve done tattoo shows and tattoo conventions and we’re like ‘What’s the evolution? What’s the fun piece?’ And we were out shooting one day and it just kinda came together. Gun guys are tattooed and tattoo guys loves guns,” said producer John Henderson.

The convention continues all weekend long at the Wilmington Convention Center.
