Four arrested in large fentanyl bust in New Hanover County

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Detectives with the New Hanover County Gang Task Force began a drug investigation earlier this month involving members, associates and affiliates of the 720 Gang set. Now, four people are behind bars after deputies say they were found with more than 1100 grams of Fentanyl.

During the investigation, multiple drug transactions were made with Marlon Raequan Miller, who deputies say is also a validated gang member.

Detectives identified a home on McRae Street in Wilmington that they say multiple gang members were using as a gathering place. A drug transaction was made at the home which resulted in the Gang Task Force being issued a search warrant.

On January 26, at approximately 12:30 p.m., detectives executed the search warrant and found two firearms, a Tec-9 and a .357 Revolver. They also found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 75 bags of heroin packaged for sale, seven grams of raw heroin, and an extensive amount of Fentanyl, more than 1100 grams or 2.4 pounds. The search also uncovered all the items needed for weighing, stamping and packaging heroin.

Marlon Raequan Miller was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Possession with the intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Heroin. He received a $150,000 secure bond.

Sharmaine L. Ballard, Tommy Sellers (validated gang member) and Tyreek Quanya Robinson (validated gang member) were arrested and charged with Trafficking Opium/Heroin, Conspire Traffic Opium/Heroin, Possession with intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver, Possession with intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Marijuana and Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for a Controlled Substance. They received no bond for these charges.
